Butler’s local VOICe is not associated with President Trump’s VOICE
BUTLER, PA, March 1, 2017
On Tuesday, February 28, 2017, President Donald Trump announced the creation of a new office under the Department of Homeland Security called VOICE, Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement. The office will serve American victims of undocumented immigrants; however, this office is not associated with Butler County’s local Victim Outreach Intervention Center (VOICe).
Following President Trump’s announcement, Victim Outreach Intervention Center has received multiple phone calls meant for Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement. While we are not part of President Trump’s office, Victim Outreach Intervention Center does provide services to victims of crime—including any committed by undocumented immigrants.
VOICe has provided confidential services to victims of crime in Butler County for over 40 years, and we will continue our support and advocacy as long as our doors remain open. Butler County victims can obtain services such as: emergency shelter, housing options, crisis counseling, legal advocacy, civil legal representation, medical advocacy, and children’s services.
If you, or someone you know, is a victim of a crime, Victim Outreach Intervention Center’s hotline is available 24/7 at 1.800.400.8551. We may not be President Trump’s VOICE, we will always be Butler County’s VOICe.
