Be a Volunteer

Victim Outreach Intervention Center is looking for caring and compassionate men and women of all ages to volunteer for our Agency. Volunteer opportunities are available in various areas such as our emergency crisis shelter, hotline, medical/legal advocacy, children’s programming, community education and much more.

Requirements for Volunteer Membership

  1. Volunteers will be asked to commit themselves to at least six (6) months of service to the Agency.
  2. Volunteers are expected to notify the Agency if they are unable to fulfill an agreed-upon commitment.
  3. Volunteers who desire a leave of absence from VOICe must notify the Agency in writing, and must state the beginning and ending of the leave. If a volunteer’s leave should extend beyond a three (3) month period, they may be required to take a supplemental training prior to resuming active status.
  4. Volunteers must comply with the requirements specified in their job descriptions. The agency has the right to terminate a volunteer at any time. The volunteer has the right to appeal such decisions in accordance with the policies and procedures held by VOICe.

Our Volunteering Philosophy

It is the intention of Victim Outreach Intervention Center to provide quality training for meaningful volunteer tasks, as well as opportunities for increased responsibility. In order to reach this goal, we will provide each volunteer with the opportunity to develop to potential by teaching new skills and expanding on existing assets.

It is our belief that with proper training and varied life experiences can provide quality services to the agency and survivors. The volunteers of VOICe are expected to reflect our philosophy of self-determination in all activities and respect the fact that each individual has the right and responsibility to make choices that are appropriate for their own lives.
